Do I have to paint you a picture? is an artist-led temporary artspace in the heart of Cardiff. Throughout a six-week programme of lens-based exhibitions, a curatorial project will utilise a disused shop unit within one of the city's increasingly sparse (yet ornately beautiful) Victorian and
Edwardian Arcades. In response to photography's evolving technological
and ideological complexities, Do I Have To Paint You A Picture? will aim to bring together disparate artists working in photographic and film media
and to contextualize their work through an imaginative and inventive curatorial process.

Off the Wall, the premier contemporary art gallery in Cardiff show in May is a solo show of Ciara Lewis’ work.

Ciara is one of the gallery’s most popular and talented artists. Last year she won Off the Wall’s “Art Factor” prize.

This show is concerned with urban re-generation, change and decay in Wales & other places. A large part of her work is abstract, but if pushed, she would describe herself as a landscape painter which is often the inspiration for her work.

Off the Wall, Cardiff’s premier modern, contemporary gallery is pleased to announce Martyn Jones’, first solo show on 17th June.

We are delighted with this show which will have many stunning new works by one of Wales’ top contemporary artists.

Martyn has recently had his second major show at the Robert Steele Gallery in New York, which proved to be highly successful. This show is part of the ‘Atelier’ series and will comprise new paintings which are specific to place and time.

‘My work is descriptive in essence – natural shape and form taken from the world at large. My paintings have been described as capturing a natural ambiguity, but that ambiguity should not be construed as being manufactured in any way.’
