Open Empty Spaces, conceived by Sam Aldridge and Paula Morison, is an artist-led project aiming to create temporary, non-gallery based exhibiting spaces throughout Cardiff.
We aim to create exhibiting opportunities for contemporary visual artists, at any stage in their career, and working in a variety of media.
Using public locations for our project will help bring contemporary art to a new audience and provide people with the chance to see a unique and exciting project whilst going about their day to day lives. We hope the project will encourage people to see public art in a different way and to look at the environment around them from a new perspective. We invisage that the project will provide debate around contemporary art and the space it inhabits.
