The Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru Centenary Print Residency at the Curwen Press
The Josef Herman Foundation, in Partnership with Curwen Print Studio, Cambridge is offering a weeklong residency for an artist/printmaker
• A weeks training at the prestigious Curwen Press to produce a series of lithographs with plates and materials provided
• Work produced in the residency will be included in a touring exhibition which will include a selection of Josef Herman’s prints. The exhibition tour will open at the Ceri Richards Gallery in the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea, as part of the Swansea Festival 2012 (other venues to be confirmed).
• A three month mentoring relationship after the residency
The works will focus on Josef Herman’s interest in “what people do and why they do it”.
Who: The residency is open to Welsh born and Wales-based emerging artists and fine art printmakers who have graduated from a BA or MA in the past 10 years.
When: The Residency to be undertaken Spring 2012, with an exhibition starting in Autumn 2012.
Requirements: The selected artist would be required to donate some of the prints to the Josef Herman Art Foundation Cymru collection
Fees: The residency award is valued at £3395 to include training and materials with an accommodation and subsistence allowances up to a value of £800.
