December eleven is a result of conversations initiated through The Centre Is Here seminars organised by Chapter gallery and WARP.

Completing the Birmingham-Bristol-Cardiff trinity, the artists, curators and critics of Cardiff are proud to present December eleven – a day of art events, screenings, visits and socialising across the City. December eleven is a result of conversations initiated through The Centre Is Here seminars organised by Chapter gallery and WARP.

The day’ will start at 12 noon with a visit to the renowned Tactile Bosch studios, where artists from all three participating cities have been invited to undertake a residency. There will also be visits to various artist studios, a film screening by Outcasting, presentations throughout the day by Open Empty Spaces, British Racing Green and a visit to the recently re-opened Chapter Arts Centre. Rubric journal of culture will be releasing its anticipated next issue, and there will also be the chance to recharge at selected hostelries and eateries including the new Cardiff Arts Institute. The day’s end will be marked by Richard Bevan’s exhibition preview at g39 in the city centre and an after show party.

Days Schedule
12pm – Welcome and exhibition of residency at ‘Building Up Not Tearing Down’ at Tactile Bosch. Resident Artists: Rhys Coren and Fraser Cook (Bristol), Alistair Owen and Jason Pinder (Cardiff) and Sarah Farner and Joanne Masding (Birmingham). Refreshments served.
2pm – Alan Phelan Exhibition, Bedwyr Williams Light Box Commission and look at new refurbishment, Chapter
2.15pm – Artist Talk with Alan Phelan
3pm – Printhaus Studios
3.30pm – Kings Road Studios
4pm We will then walk to Cardiff City Centre where there will be the chance to view a number of activities including: Outcasting Screening on the Big Screen on the Hayes, Bedwyr Williams Chess Sets (pieces available at Central Library on deposit), National Theatre Wales in Castle Arcade and the launch of issue two of Rubric at Cardiff Arts institute, which will also include contributions by An Endless Supply and a chance to get some nourishment.
7pm – Richard Bevan Preview at G39
9PM – After show party – Cardiff Arts Institute a chance to drink the night away

As a city, Cardiff has seen radical developments in recent years, and this is equally true of the achievements of artists who make up Cardiff’s artscene. These are optimistic times, come and join us to celebrate.
