Statement
I love the mundane, the dull, the seemingly boring patterns of day-to-day life and its existence. I see its potential to be a thing of beauty, to accept it and to embrace it.
My work focuses on the concepts of routine, repetition and pattern which surround us and are often overlooked, unnoticed and unappreciated. I am inspired by these concepts, adapt them into contemporary pieces of art and bring to light the beauty that is hidden within. Each piece I create is bold and of a large scale to draw the viewers attention, however, behind its simple aesthetics lies a more complex meaning.
My pieces are not designed to be challenging, they are there to be enjoyed by all through its various aspects. My work is a continuing investigation into the use of opposing themes, simple abstract representations and repetitive patterns.
I am currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art at UWIC
