Statement

My practice is in the area of contemporary painting whereby I systematically layer oil paint, pva and paper onto canvas, hessian or muslin, exploring the possibilities of how media can be used to evoke the sublime in various materials. The creation of translucent textures, reflecting and scattering light to enhance the surface qualities is my remit. My paintings aim to reflect a fascination with the nuances of atmospheric light, colour and in particular evoke the experience of dawn and dusk.
