Statement

Samuel is not a portrait painter, but a painter of people and the cognitive and living space between two people, exploring the painting's ability to act as a narrative.

Working in Cardiff, Samuel was born in Pontypool and spent his adolescence in South London. He returned to Wales at 21 so he could complete his BA (hons) in Fine Art at the Cardiff School of Art and Design.

Having recently completed a series of commissions, Samuel is currently working on a body of work using mythology to find added meaning within the confines of the moment.
