Through photography, performance and the use of its residue as installation Oben intervenes in her own lived-life identity to disrupt normative signifying processes and practices. Through the enactment of (and her passing as) a multitude of others she demonstrates the unfixity and mutability of gendered identity thereby suggesting our sense of self may be nothing more than regulatory fiction.
