Statement

I studied my Masters in Ceramics at UWIC after completing my BA in Ceramics at WWSOTA,Carmarthen. Since college I have returned to Ireland where I am painting at the moment. I like to paint on a very large scale and find this extremely exciting as it is very new and a challenge to me. I hope to return to Ceramics one day, but for now I am enjoying painting.

Perhaps it is my background in Ceramics, but when the sun shines on vehicles that have been dumped and burnt out on the top of Mt. leinster, the earthy colours emanating are truly beautiful. Being from the countryside, we see the contrast of nature and man co-existing in rural settings and the beauty of these things when nature gets her hand on them.
Instead of simply writing-off or dismissing these objects as merely rubbish, time given to really 'look' and 'see' enables us to discover and experience this beauty first hand and I hope to captivate this essence in my work.
