Statement

'I first studied art at a professional level in an art college in North Wales (Coleg Menai). I became accustomed to the vast variety of art that this college had to offer-including skills within photography, sculpture, drawing and painting. It was from then on I knew that art was for me, and so my journey as an artist began, through advaning further on I have graduated from UWIC with a BA (hons) in fine art. My work has now focused into exploring how the body works, through drawing and painting. Although I can work with bright 'cheery' colours , I prefer the contrast between dark and paler shades.


My work is all about the inner soul of a person being emotionally portrayed on the outside. This can be determined by using appropriate responses to mark making-rough marks for pain, and smooth lines for calmness. Altering my ideas and concepts helps me to discover new and interesting ways of working with my mediums. My favourite choices of medium at the moment are acrylics, varnish and coffee'
