Statement

I am currently investigating and challenging my cultural and personal assumptions about visual aesthetics and continuing to develop a visual sensitivity that recognizes and can qualify what is art. I am spending my time making artworks that eliminate, during making, culturally formed aesthetic judgments and interventions. My art-making is informed by feeling rather than by any imposed dogma and tested against a 25 year career that has been conditioned by working within the confines of a formalist tradition.

I attempt to make surprising artworks that I haven’t seen before; artworks that overcome my impulse to compare and transform my work into what I have been conditioned to think Art is; artworks that challenge the status quo and offer an alternative vision
