Let us know what you like or not about the site? Does it work for you? Which bits are no longer relevant? What would you like to see on here? We're just starting to plan the changes now so speak now...
Hi guys... I like the site and use it often, so thanks for just being there:) If you don't think that facebook should have the monopoly on 'sharing' then it would be nice to have some sort of social networking options (contacts/comments etc) added to the Artists section. I use Artdoxa too and they have a rotating 'front cover' artist (as do Axis etc) and, well, it makes the person on the front feel, y'know - nice! I'm not sure about the red/pink though. I can see it fitting in with the artmap branding, but nothing beats old school black, white and (maybe) a bit of grey;) A really handy thing for the front page would be 'opening tonight!!!' and 'last chance to see...!!!' Anyway, what do you all think?
Hi Lee,
Good to know the site is used! I was at the first meeting discussing changes and its good to hear you echoing some of the things discussed. Giving the site a rolling or evolving front page to keep it 'fresh' is one of the proposals.
We talked about design and want to tie in with the artmap feel, but this hasnt been worked out. It may be the fonts or the red/ black text colour. Either way we are trying to link the two, the map may be downloadable from the site.
I know this isnt especialkly clear, but where you see a red date in the calender, its an opening night! We'll work on making that stuff more obvious. If anyone has thoughts, it would be good to hear them, especially as all the content here is provided by the users of the site.
The Arc site is very important, I am only just realising it's value. I'm a reluctant networker on digital platforms, but I give it a go, so I'd like to see a non digital resource area specifically related to the site, like a physical posting board, an established space where you can access the actual artworks or meet for events. I've nabbed a shop unit in a Cardiff arcade with an intention such this and would like to see if it could be developed further.
Hi Rob, I believe its important too, it gives a view of what is going on from an artist run perspective, its inclusive and content comes largely from its users. Am hoping the discussions about changes wont lose the good bits and will make it better.
I agree with Lee! It's a great site! I'm off to join artdoxa too. Dont forget MADE IN ROATH 2012 this year is looking to be another amazing events over two weekends!!
