A truly sad state of affairs to see the end of performance / time based art at Howard Gardens...
End of not one era but 3 I think...[decades at least]
The performance dept. @ Howard Gardens came into existence in the late 70's and has been an extroadinary catalyst for experimental liveART, Innovative thinking and free expression since its inception. tactileBOSCH was 'founded' on that 'BARKING' energy...its an RIP-off and a crying shame!

i have so many good/bad memories of that dept. from slapping someone's bum to being bored senseless to laughing my head off.
without anthony howells, i would never have seen dutch torture porn involving cats and cutting yer nails with a razor blade

Really bad news, though performance will no doubt continue at the university it will now be coming out of the sculpture/ painting departments and so will be very different from the sort of working being made in performance specific department.
A huge portion of the performance artists practicing in Cardiff came through that department, in a year or two the style/ amount of performance taking place in Cardiff will be very different.
Sad indeed
